1.4986, X7CrNiMoBNb16-16 – description
Heat-resistant steel. It contains niobium and boron along wich high amount of nickel and chromium.
Main features:
- Heat-resistant
- Creep-resistant
- Contains niobium – which strengthens solution, positively affects creep-resistance and improves pitting corrosion resistance.
- Contains boron – which improves high-temperature creep-resistance.
1.4986, X7CrNiMoBNb16-16 – physical properties
The general physical properties of the grade, as follows:
- Density: 7.9g/cm3
- Specific heat capacity: 460 J/kg*K
- Modulus of elasticity (Young module): 196 GPa
- Thermal conductivity at 20℃: 15 W/m*K
- Linear expansion coefficient: 16.6*10-6 1/℃
Welding
This grade is classified in the group 8.1 (austenitic steel with chromium content not greater than 19%) according to ISO / TR and should be weld as such.
