1.2367, X38CrMoV5-3 - specification and application

Tool steel for hot work with high strength properties and tempering temperature, resistance to elevated temperatures, fatigue and deformation.

It also has resistance to shock and impact when working at high temperatures and good workability.

1.2367 / X38CrMoV5-3 grade is used for the production of Aluminum, Magnesium and Zinc alloy die casting molds as well as plastics, subassemblies and die forging parts such as bushings, bolts, clamps and nuts.


Mechanical properties of X38CrMoV5-3, 1.2367

  • Hardness in +A condition: : <229 HB
  • Hardness in +A+C condition: <249 HB

 


Heat treatment of X38CrMoV5-3, 1.2367

  • Softening annealing at a temperature of 730 - 800 ℃
  • Relief annealing at a temperature of 600 - 650℃
  • Hardening at a temperature of 1030 - 1080℃
  • Tempering at a tempering of 500 - 550℃
