60CrMoV18-5, 1.2358 - specification and application

Chrome-vanadium tool steel for cold working with high hardenability, shock resistance, high strength, wear resistance and dimensional stability after heat treatment. It does not exhibit high hardness compared to high carbon steels. Weldable and susceptible to grinding, polishing, delivered in heat treated condition with hardness 30-34HRC.

Grade used for injection moulds for the production of plastics, tools for cutting and machining plastics, dies, scissors, cutting blades, punches, tools with complex shapes for cold forming, inserts. Material 1.2358 is an excellent alternative to NMV, NCLV or NC11LV.
