32CrB4, 1.7076 / 36CrB4, 1.7077 – description
Alloyed boron steel. Elements made of this steel are shaped by swelling or cold extrusion. After shaping, the finished elements are thermally improved, i.e. hardened and tempered.
The distinguishing feature of this alloy is the addition of boron, which significantly increases the hardenability of the alloy. Apart from boron, there is also a large amount of chromium. Chromium increases hardenability and delays martensite transformations during tempering, which ensures high strength and ductility.
