115CrV3, 15CrNi6, 1.2210, NW1 - specification and application
Grade with low hardenability and sensitivity to overheating, low tendency to crack when hardened in water, high abrasion resistance, good cutting properties and durability of the knife. It is also characterized by low resistance to tempering. Material used for the production of cutters, drills, circular saws for metal cutting, reamers, coin and medal punches, tools for cutting wood, paper, tobacco, and rubber. It is also used for the production of dies, threaders, drills, circular knives, jaws for cutting threads and nails, engraving tools, bimetal knives, and countersinks. In the original Bright steel NW1, tungsten at a concentration of 1.10-1.50% was present.
