Description and application

Another grade of austenitic-ferritic bifurcated stainless steel, which chemical composition with limited nickel content not significantly reduces the price of raw material, it also is improving mechanical properties (which supports Nitride) and resistance to corrosion - especially stress, intercrystalline and crevice corrosion.

The LDX 2101 grade exhibits much better corrosion resistance in comparison to AISI 304 / 304L and AISI 316Ti, AISI 316 / 316L austenitic grades. Steel stands out high resistance to cracking, better fatigue resistance, smaller cross-sectional areas for production, higher two-phase stability thanks to Mn, work temperature up to 600 ℃, good weldability and machinability.

The above-mentioned Lean Duplex, unfortunately, requires a significantly higher strength during cold working than standard austenitic stainless steels. LDX 2101 is used in the shipbuilding, marine, petroleum, petrochemical, chemical, nitrogen, aerospace, cryogenic, pulp and paper industries, power engineering, agitator construction, sewage treatment plants, screws, shafts, bushes, aircraft parts, radiator parts, heat exchangers pipelines, heavy-duty tankers, pressure and chemical vessels and silos working in contact with oils, fuels, structures and cargo tanks of chemical tankers.
