X45MoCrV5-3-1, 1.2999 - specification and application
Hot working tool steel with the highest resistance to loads, impacts and shocks, high resistance to temperature fluctuations and tempering. It is also characterized by high thermal conductivity, resistance to critical temperatures and fatigue. Material 1.2999 is the right choice for the production of heavy-duty dies, forging tools, casting moulds for demanding metals and other applications where the highest purity of the material is required.
Mechanical properties of 1.2999
- Hardness in annealed condition <230HB
- Hardness after hardening: 56-57HRC
- Thermal conductivity: 31.4 W*m-1*K-1
- Hardness after hardening and tempering at temperature:
- 300C = 54HRC
- 400C = 55HRC
- 500C = 56HRC
- 550C = 57HRC
- 600C = 53HRC
Heat treatment of X45CrMoV5-3-1 - processes and temperatures:
- Softening annealing at a temperature of 750-800C
- Hardening at a temperature of 1070 - 1100C with cooling in oil
- Tempering at temperature 500-550C
